Opportunities and Challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean Region
About EMMJ Conferences
EMAME was founded under umbrella of WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean during the first conference on medical journals in the region held in Cairo, Egypt in October, 2003. Since then these conferences have been held by EMAME every two years in collaboration with national association of medical editors and / or journals in various countries. The first conference was followed by conference held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (2004) , Shiraz, Iran (2006) and Bahrain (2008). Pakistan is honored to hold the 5th conference in December 2010 in collaboration with Pakistan Association of Medical Editors (PAME).
These conferences are targeted at editors, editorial staff, reviewers and referees of biomedical journals, national programme officers responsible for standard setting for health science journals from the region besides academicians and eminent medical writers and journalists from Europe and USA.
